Powers' Games Page

Hey, thanks for dropping by. I enjoy playing computer games when i have the time, so I'm gonna put up some links and info and maybe some other stuff if I can find it. This isn't a warez site so don't ask me to post copies of games I have becuase it won't happen. That said, here are games I like.

My newest improvements to my system are upping the RAM to 512MB and putting in a new Geforce 4 TI4200 128MB graphics card. I can tell games are starting to lag just a tad, like I can't run them on the best resolution, but stuff is still really good, so I'm happy.

Ok so this is the deal now. I download huge numbers of games off of mIRC and trade and stuff. They are to numerous to say something about them all, so I'll list all the standouts here.

My brand f'ing new computer is a 850mhz Campus Socrates with a 12X DVD-ROM, a 8x4x32 CD-RW, and a bunch of other cool shit on a T3+ university connection. Unfortunately, I'm running Windows 2000, so most of the kickass old games I played don't work anymore, so I'm moving on to bigger and better things.

I've had Half-Life for a long time, and it's still one of the best games ever. The intro sequence was somewhat longer than I would have liked, but it showed very well how detailed the graphics of the game are. For other beginners : don't waste your time on the Hazard Course, its dumb as crap. ALL PLAYERS - DOWNLOAD COUNTERSTRIKE! This mod is just as good as TFC, and TFC is awesome. I play both CStike and TFC whenever I have time to kill.

I got a cracked version on this game and it is absolutely the bloodiest thing I have ever seen. I've beaten it on easy and will prolly get around to the harder difficulties eventually. I can't get multiplayer to work except over our LAN, which I think has something to do with the fact that it's cracked. Anyhow, lots of blood, stuff is realistic as hell, and the end battle and cutscene are so friggin cool it isn't even funny.

I play Red Alert and Tiberium Dawn a lot, and I think I would pick Red Alert as the better of the two. I can not wait for Tiberium Sun to infest my hard drive. That game looks so frickin' SWEET! I haven't ever gotten Westwood Online to work past launching the game, so I've never done any multiplayer in either version, but if you want to set up a game or tell me a better way, I'm all ears.

My JK Page

Sorry, JK, you just got one-upped by Half-Life. Even so, this is an awesome game that can be played for hours on end. The Quake series has it's merits, but Star Wars is Star Wars. I once was at a point where I played multiplayer JK continously, but I just don't have the time anymore, and clans are too much of a hassle. I'm gonna put up some strategies, etc, soon.

Warcraft II really was the first decent RTS, in my opinion. It was a vast improvement over the original. I prefer to play as humans, for whatever reason, but I'm decent at both sides. Nowadays, I just play WC2 on the Zone. See that section if you want to set up a game.

I used to play Duke a whole lot, mostly over the modem with one other person, or at school over the LAN. However, now that I have Internet Access, I don't do modem games. However, the Zone IPX is supposed to do Duke ok, but nobody is ever there. Anyhow, I'd play if I found a decent way to do it. If you want the add-on to Duke from a certain well known magazine, let me know and I'll hook you up.

I got the Titanium Edition of Mercs when I bought my X-Fighter joystick. I used to play the board game version of Mechwarrior when I was younger, and man, does playing it on a computer ever beat the hell out of rolling dice. Anyhow, I'm looking to find people to play against if I can, since the total population of MercNet is ZERO. If you aren't playing the 3D enhanced version, you are missing out. I am interested in obtaining the rest of the Titanium Trilogy, if I can get it cheap.

Let me just say this. Qcrack is a wonderful thing. I now have full-version Quake on my computer and got GLQuake to run with my Monster 3D. Comparing GLQuake to regular Quake is like comparing a rocket to a shotgun shell. GLQuake is so much better than regular, unaccelerated Quake. As far as Quake multiplayer goes, everything I've done over the network at school has run fine, but everything I have tried over the Internet has caused serious lag problems. I am currently investigating a fast server to play Quake on, and I will pass along the information once I get it.

This is the best place to do online multiplayer gaming. I've tried HEAT, and it just isn't that good. Anyhow, the Zone is quick and easy, and best of all it's free. I play WC2, JK, XvT, and Duke Nukem. If you want to look me up, my handle is GhentPowers.
