Here are a bunch of bands that I like. Um.....well I guess I'm
saying that I would recommend these bands to other people, like you for
example. But, don't feel pressured to go out and buy their music, 'cuz
I'm just saying that I like them, which doesn't necessairily mean that
you'll like them. Just wanted to get that straight, y'know. Um.......so
here's my list of great bands.
Ok, saw them at HFStival 2001 and they kicked ass. Downloaded Hybrid Theory, and its awesome, Reanimation is probably better. I think I may actually buy Meteora (bear with me) as it comes with a tshirt if you order it presale. Anyhow, they're more or less my favorite group right now. I am hella psyched to see them this summer with Metallica and Limp Bizkit.
I first saw NFG when they opened for Blink 182 at their concert in summer 2001 at Merriweather Post Pavilion. They played an awesome set, possibly better than Blink. I saw them again at HFStival 2002 when they subbed in for Alien Ant Farm. There is pretty much no song of theirs I don't like.
First song I heard from them was Again I Go Unnoticed and from that point on I was hooked. I've got I'm pretty sure all their mp3s and I saw them at HFStival 2002, they were awesome. I'd say of their songs, July, Shirts and Gloves, Standard Lines, and The Best Deceptions are my favorites.
Someone gave me a copy of Significant Other on a CDR and, well, its a damn good CD. All the songs are good, even the one they did with Method Man or the WuTang Clan, or whatever. Anyhow, I'd like to see them come out with another CD soon. Also, I would like to point out that this is some of the most kick-ass cover art I have ever seen.
'Nuff said. Metallica is the coolest band I have ever seen, or for
that matter heard. I own ..And Justice For All, Metallica (aka the
Black Album), ReLoad, and Garage Inc. If you want to hear a really
messed up song, listen to So What, which is track 11 on Disc 2 of
Garage Inc. Its kinda funny tho. I got S & M recently and it's the best Metallica stuff I've ever heard. Songs like Master of Puppets, Bleeding Me, and The Memory Remains (already some of their best songs) are nothing less than enhanced by the symphony accompaniment.
I own Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (which is a really good album, especially the pink disc) and Siamese Dream. Adore is really good. I thought their performance on SNL (host Cameron Diaz) was really good too. In more recent news, everything after Adore SUCKED and I shed ZERO tears about them breaking up, except for the fact that their website is down so I can't get authentic tabs.
How can anybody not like Aerosmith? If you haven't read their autobiography, Walk
This Way, do it NOW! It was a great piece of literature, and really got me into them as a band and I learned a lot about them. I have A Little South of Sanity and Get a Grip, which is a really good album, and Sanity is beyond reality, probably one of the best live albums I've ever heard.
I've listened to Offspring before, but Americana was the first punk
cd I ever bought. Its pretty good, and I'm looking to get Ixnay and Smash.
However, just because I like Offspring, that doesn't mean I support punk, so there!
SOUNDTRACKS
I like a lot of movie soundtracks because they give a sampling of bands with out you having to buy their entire albums. Sometimes all the songs on a soundtrack stink, but not too often. I have the Godzilla, Armageddon, and The Faculty soundtracks and they are all good.
FAMILY VALUES
This is probably the hardest CD I own. I got it as a gift from a friend, and I only listen to 7 tracks on it. However, those 7 tracks make it a damn good album. In order : Incubus, Orgy, Limp Bizkit, Rammstein, and Korn.
COLLECTIVE SOUL
I got Collective Soul and Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid for the munificent price of \\$5 for both. I was on a streak of listening to only those 2 cds for about 3 weeks, but then I finally broke down and listened to some Pumpkins. Anyhow, they're a great band, and I listen to their music whenever I'm trying to think about something and not doing anything else. It really calms me down and lets me think. OK, CALL ME WEIRD, I DONT CARE! Anyhow, I recently got Dosage and that album is totally sweet. I'm looking to pick up Disciplined Breakdown pretty soon, so.........whatever.
MEGADETH
Ok, well, I only own Cryptic Writings, but I've liked Megadeth for a while, or at least the stuff they play on the radio. Also, lets face it : even though Dave Mustaine wasn't good enough for Metallica, he was still with them, and he's pretty good. I'll probably get a more detailed bio or review or whatever up pretty soon.
BLINK 182
Hmmm....well, after obtaining this CD I am re-thinking my stance on punk, even though some of my more "with it musically" friends contend that they're not punk, as if I really give a rats ass what category the music falls into. In my book, fast repeditive guitars = punk. Anyhow, btw, chick on the cover of Enema is a porn star, just to set you straight. I like Going Away to College, Whats My Age Again?, and Adam's Song, but there aren't ANY bad songs on the CD. I got Dude Ranch a little later, and it's just as good, especially Dammit, Apple Shampoo, and Josie. I saw them in concert wiht New Found Glory at Merriweather Post Pavilion Summer 2001 with Jenn, and it was an AWESOME show. Pyrotechnics, wacky antics, the whole 9 yards. THEY RULE!
Additionally, I like the following bands/artists based on what I've heard of their music :
